Nature’s Long Memory was envisioned as a pop-up devotional space for community members to reflect and contribute to. Made of locally harvested Phragmites reed, the sculpture was deployed at each location for a week or two at a time. Locations, designs, themes and prompts for reflection were developed by our Camden based build crew, all emerging artists. The Camden crew also developed their own work as part of an exhibition they organized about Nature’s Long Memory at LEAP Academy in Camden.

Locations:
Cramer Hill Nature Preserve
Von Nieda Park
Pyne Poynt Park
Camden Historical Society, as part of the Camden County Community Block Party
Camden AME Church
One day artist showcase at RCA Pier Park (curated by the Camden build crew)
Exhibition at LEAP academy (featuring the Camden build crew)
